Lighthouse Beach House Paradip, a port town located at the confluence of the Mahanadi River mouths, is about 95 kilometers from Cuttack by road. With the development of a major port at Paradip in the 1960s, the need for a significant lighthouse arose. The 40-meter reinforced concrete circular tower’s construction began in December 1982 and was completed in March 1987.

The lighthouse is located on the beach in Paradip, a municipality in the Odisha district of Jagatsinghpur. The lighthouse is open daily from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Following the construction of a major port in the 1960s, the Paradip Lighthouse was established in 1987. The lighthouse is equipped with a differential global positioning system. The beach at Paradip is near the port where the Mahanadi River meets the Bay of Bengal.
The Paradip Lighthouse is 40 meters (131 feet) tall. It has a circular concrete tower with a lantern, a gallery, and a circular observation and control room. The lighthouse is painted with black and white horizontal bands, and the lantern dome is painted red.
M/s Marine And Communication Electronics (MACE) began transmitting technologically advanced equipment for Radio Beacons in 1992. This was a replacement for a nearby Radio Beacon at the False Point Lighthouse, which was decommissioned due to logistical issues. The Paradip Lighthouse now provides logistical support to the False Point Lighthouse.
